Mosque at Djenné, in Mali. A community event that takes place annually to renew mosque walls with a brand new layer of mud. The mosque has been conceived with pieces of wood installed in a regular pattern along its external surfaces. These protuberances are not meer decorative elements, they function as scaffolding, helping the believers to climb the facades.
